According to Paul...

Hello MiNdependents;

I know I've just posted that link but I wanted to pass along another memory of this past saturday's events. Paul Provost, who you would call the de facto leader of our Obama MN group, sent me this message just this morning, its been edited a tiny bit just to make it more "to all", but he had some great words about our burgeoning group and the general excitement Barack Obama is spreading as a (possible) candidate.

I used to think I lived in boring times,
but now I see the world is as wild as its ever been.

A Letter from Paul:

We had about six Minneapolis people attend St. Paul's
group. It really was quite different in many ways
from the Minneapolis group, but in the end, the
message was the same- people are stoked, full of
positive energy and deep down they really want Obama
to be their next president!

Twenty five or so people attended, about 10 were 18
years of age or younger. The diversity in the room
was intense. There were Political groups present that
try and influence a better life in certain places in
Africa.

The most interesting part of our discussion was does
the black community "owe the Clintons" their "black"
vote. Since there were mostly African Americans
present, it was a great topic. They wanted advice on
how to approach others they knew who were supporting
Hillary Clinton.

We discussed strategy on how to build a bigger, better
grassroots movement. Building the list- one list - was
mostly touted.

All in all, we all had an awesome time! I loved
meeting new faces and these faces were extremely
passionate, which I believe is why we will win this!

I agree with Paul. We need to all get our names to the Obama MN listeserve and sign the petition at Draftobama.org. Make a pledge, start a blog, join a group, make a group on myspace, we just need heartbeats-in-proximity. That's how we're going to take this country back from cynicism and despair. Remember everyone - Next saturday at the Global Market, please come down and join us!

Keep hoping out there!
