It's already begun MiNdependents. That's why we have to keep our mindependent thought. I mean, what the hell is the matter with people. How fucked up is our system? So fucked up that from day one, the republicans simply refuse to play ball.
And they know that's how it works. All they have to do is not show up and there's no game. If there's no game there's no winner. And you know what sucks about this system? Even though we don't get to play, we're still the ones who have to deal with winning or losing. Example - troops in iraq and afghanistan. They have to deal with losing (the war, their lives, their limbs) while congress gets to play the game that decides whether they go or stay, whether they win or lose.
So as I said, if one side doesn't show up, no one gets to play. And this isn't fucking little league where the team that does show up wins by forfeit. We lose when either team forfeits. And to be honest, its hard to say which side is the one giving up right now. The downright pathetic, useless, aimless, hopeless, dickless, brainless, gonad-less democrats? Or the Republicans who subscribe to the same adjectives along with disconnected, blind, fucking retarded, living in the past, old, corrupt, morononic and moustache twisting.
To say that its a success when everyone from a single party does anything, belies the whole point of elected officials. To wit: Dear sir, I did not elect you to hold the god-damned party line. I elected you to represent the interests of our shared state. I'd like to remind you that while you were grandstanding about holding the line on spending (where the fuck did this argument come from by the way - weren't those record deficits you ran up when you were in charge?) I was biting my nails to find out if your dumb ass had lost me my job yet. Go screw yourself. Sincerely...
The fact that some democrats did vote against the house stimulus bill tells you that at least some people were acting with independent thought. Its when someone says before even reading the bill "We're all going to vote against this" that you wonder whose best interest they have in mind. Ours, or their own.
(BTW, the answer to that question is supposed to be ours.)
