Mayor confirmed

Hello MiNdepenedents!
Stand by for news...

Not by any means a national story, but for those of you in the Twin Cities area I'd again like to encourage you to stop by the Global Market next weekend to see Obama's announcement. Our yahoo groups leaders have confirmed Mayor R.T. Rybak and City Council Member Ralph Remington (ward 10) will be joining us to root for Obama on February 10, 9:30 a.m. to noon. Remember, this will be at the big screen tv they've got over there and should be a lot of fun.

Press releases are being sent to the local media outlets to inform them of this event. I believe those will be going out today or may have gone out last night. In any case considering the national coverage this will be getting, the Twin Cities media is almost certainly going to want a local angle on this story, which is exactly what we are. My guess, and don't take it as much more, is that we will have a couple TV stations there and probably some print as well, if only to gather quotes. So those of you adept and standing behind reporter with "hi mom" signs should consider yourselves invited as well.

This will aslo be the last update for the Twin Cities cross city inter-idea exchangeathon, which will be taking place tomorrow, Saturday February 3. The Minneapolitans will be meeting at the Urban Bean at 9:30 a.m. to go to St. Paul. I'll be updating this post before 10:30 to include that location if people would rather go straight to the St. Paul location.

Dress warm people, its getting bad out there!

I won't be updating this on weekends, but if you have anything to add, news or events, or if you'd like to get involved feel free to contact me here or join our group by writing to obamamn-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Everyone is doing their best to stay on top of contacts. Keep on hoping out there, we'll see you soon!
